Advent Prayer Calendar: Day 13

At Advent, we turn our hearts and minds towards the light that broke into the world’s darkness. The light that has changed everything. We are invited to encounter that light and then asked to be that light ourselves, in a world that so desperately needs it. These short, daily reflections will help you to fix your eyes on Jesus and ponder how you can bring light into dark places. This year’s Advent Prayer Guide has been written by Fred and Caroline Drummond and is used by permission.

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of the light.” Ephesians 5:8

Reflect: We are children of the light. A radical change has happened. Once we were darkness, then God in His mercy, through the amazing salvation work of Jesus, changed us to light. Now we are to live as children of the light. What does that look like in your situation? Can you think of examples of living as children of the light?
Prayer: Thank you God for every opportunity that you give me to live for you. Help me to see the opportunities and grant me the boldness to take them. Now in the silence will you reveal one thing I should do today that will please you? Amen.
